Seven Hills Hospital tries to make the referral and admissions process as efficient and timely as possible. We accept phone calls or just walk in for a free, no obligation assessment 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Most of the time the admission process begins with a call from the referring agency. When you call Seven Hills you will speak with one of our intake specialists who will ask you a series of questions in order to get a better understanding of your current situation. Once all information is received, one of our affiliated psychiatrists will review the assessment and can usually confirm admission within 20-30 minutes and the referring agency will be notified. We do not routinely require prospective patients to go to the hospital emergency department for medical clearance unless they are in some form of medical distress.
Each patient will be reviewed on an individual basis, but a very specific criteria needs to be met in order for the patient to be admitted into an inpatient psychiatric facility.
- Patient must be a danger to themselves or others
- Need to detox from alcohol or certain drugs
- Presence of psychotic behaviors such as hallucinations
- PTSD symptoms
- Severe levels of depression
- Acute psychiatric episodes
