Outpatient Day Treatment
Day Treatment, also known as the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP,) provides daily, short-term treatment designed to help individuals with acute psychiatric problems. Treatment occurs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in a safe, structured outpatient setting at Seven Hills.
Day Treatment may be appropriate for patients making the transition from inpatient services to a once a week outpatient appointment. It can also be an alternative for patients who do not need to stay in the hospital, but need a daily effective treatment environment for a brief period of time.
The program is open Monday through Friday and is staffed by a multidisciplinary group of providers. The duration of treatment is determined by a patient’s specific needs as identified by the patient and his or her psychiatrist. The average course of treatment is two weeks.
Day Treatment offers a blend of group, individual and couples/family psychotherapy, as well as medication management. After completing a day of treatment, individuals return home for the evening. This minimizes disruption to their daily routines, maintains uninterrupted support of family and friends, and facilitates learning by encouraging immediate practice of newly acquired coping skills.
Day Treatment is covered by Medicare, Tricare and most private insurance plans.
Free daily transportation to and from the program is available. Lunch, snacks and beverages are provided.
