Las Vegas’s Preferred Acute Active-Duty Military and Veteran’s Treatment Services for Mental Health Disorders & Substance Use Disorder

Serving in the military can be deeply rewarding. But sometimes, it can also lead to lasting emotional difficulties. At Seven Hills Hospital in Henderson, Nevada, we offer a specialty inpatient program for active-duty military service members and veterans who need focused support to heal from the unique challenges they have faced.

About the Healthy Heroes Program

When someone is struggling with a behavioral health concern or substance use disorder, they typically need personalized care that honors their unique needs, goals, and life experiences. This can be particularly important for members of the military community, who often face dangerous conditions and life-changing situations in the line of duty.

The Healthy Heroes program at Seven Hills Hospital treats veterans along with U.S. military service members from all branches, including reservists and National Guard members on orders. Our program provides compassionate and specialized care for a range of concerns, including:

  • Trauma
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Substance use disorders
  • Dual diagnosis

Our Healthy Heroes program is a stand-alone treatment program, and patients do not need to complete a prior level of care at our hospital before participating. The program can support veterans and service members who are at the beginning of their healing journeys as well as those who may be transitioning from another level of care.

At Seven Hills Hospital, our inpatient military program provides the chance to receive intensive support in a safe and caring environment. In our program, you can focus all your energy on improving your well-being so that you can bring your best self to whatever personal or professional challenges may be next for you. Patients typically remain in our Healthy Heroes program for about 30-90 days, depending on their unique needs and situation.

Features & Services

The professionals who provide care in the Healthy Heroes program embrace core values like respect, service, integrity, and communication. We strive to treat each person who heals with us with dignity, and we work to deliver consistently excellent behavioral healthcare services.

Although members of the military community may share certain similar experiences and values, each person is a unique individual. And at Seven Hills Hospital, every person receives care that is designed to meet them where they are and help them achieve their therapeutic goals.

In our Healthy Heroes program, we thoroughly review each person’s needs to determine the elements of care that may work best for them. Our program’s therapies and services include:

  • Basic medical care
  • Medication management services
  • Detoxification services
  • Individual therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Experiential therapies like music and art
  • State-of-the-art gym
  • Yoga

Each of the above services is delivered by expert staff members who aim to provide excellent care in a dignified treatment setting. Patients who receive basic medical care may work with our internal medicine doctors and nursing staff, while those who participate in medication management services can receive daily care from a psychiatrist. An addictionologist delivers our detox services, which typically last for about three to five days and can include therapeutic programming if appropriate.

Our therapists lead individual and family therapy sessions, while group sessions may be led by therapists, registered nurses, or behavioral health associates. Group topics in our Healthy Heroes program may include behavior modification, coping skills, life skills, nutrition, and more.

Therapeutic Modalities

Our Healthy Heroes program incorporates a wide variety of evidence-based and time-tested therapeutic modalities. This offers our patients a range of options for working toward their goals and achieving therapeutic milestones.

Our types of therapy include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
  • Cognitive processing therapy (CPT)
  • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
  • 12-Step programming
  • Motivational interviewing

At Seven Hills Hospital, we offer multiple pathways to healing and strive to be holistic in our approach to each person’s care.

Continuing Care

Participating in an inpatient program can be a significant step on the road to better health. But healing is often a lifelong process, so it’s important for each patient in our Healthy Heroes program to receive a plan for their continuing care.

At Seven Hills Hospital, discharge planning is a highly personalized process that begins the moment a patient enters one of our programs. It involves a multidisciplinary care team that typically includes case managers, psychiatrists, registered nurses, and therapists.

When your time in our Healthy Heroes program ends, we will recommend services and resources that we believe can best support you in the next stage of your healing journey. These may include structured outpatient programs, individual therapy, medication management, primary care, and other community resources.
